The Little Mermaid in Cannaregio was born as a challenge. How to make the reflections of light and the transparency of the water so characteristic of the Venetian summer that they remain etched in the dazzled mind of anyone in the hottest months? We add the desire to remember a symbolic place, the only bridge still left without a parapet in Cannaregio, an obligatory turning point for the famous Misericordia. We would end up with verticalising and overturning the rules of perspective, attracting the observer into the enameled waters of a real Venice. A real Venice that becomes fairy tale, while the shadow of a sinuous siren enters the unaware everyday life of a boatman.

Realization: Handmade tiles (pouring into the mold, drying, smoothing). First firing of the tiles in the oven, drawing of the project in pencil, drafting of the glaze by hand with the saving technique. Second firing of the tiles and vitrification of the enamel. On request: immersion in crystalline and third firing of the tiles.
