Description

The volume Parole veneziane. A centuria of entries of the historical-ethimological vocabulary of the Venetian language, published by Lineadacqua, is the first in a series concerning the Vocabolario storico-etimologico del veneziano (VEV).
The project is financed by the Swiss National Fund for Research (SNF). It was carried out in collaboration with the University of Lausanne and the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, with the support of the Opera del Vocabolario italiano of the CNR of Florence.

The volume collects the first hundred entries edited for the Vocabolario storico-etimologico del veneziano (VEV), that is the initial entries of the letter A of the Dizionario del dialetto veneziano by Giuseppe Boerio. Particular attention is given to the Venetianisms of Italian, i.e. the words of the common language of certain or probable Venetian origin.
