The fusion between the past and the future, between tradition and innovation, is my quality. I, Alessandro Moretti, spent my childhood in my grandfather’s historic company. From day to day he loved to explain to me the various processes of glass and the secrets of this craft.
I admired the workers pulling the long rods of glass that would become conteria. I loved the impiraresse, those women holding 40 needles at the same time, preparing the various bouquets and the bangs that they wove with the looms. Everything was magic, but I have always been a dynamic guy, who loves to experiment and look to the future. So in 2006 I decided to set up the company Costantini Glassbeads di Moretti Alessandro and start a new path.
I experiment with new processing techniques. I try to bring out from the fusion of glass rods, ever new beads with a traditional flavor but at the same time turned to modernity.
What I produce ranges from Venetian pearls produced with the ancient air technique to lampwork pearls. I create necklaces, bracelets, earrings, fashion accessories, fashion bangs or lampshades, furniture accessories up to the wedding favors. Not forgetting, however, to include the conteria that I fish from the vast amount of stock produced by my family.
I want to relaunch the original Murano glass bead, produced exclusively on the famous island. I want to bring back to the peak the research and development of new processes, maintaining and preserving the old techniques handed down from father to son.
That’s why I also dedicate my time to the cultural aspect. I have spoken at some of the most important universities in Italy, exhibited in art galleries, collaborated with writers and participated in fashion shows.
