Description
Mater Domini Masks realizes the mask La Bauta, in papier-mâché, entirely handmade, with decorations in gold leaf and acrylic colors with trimmings.
The bauta is a Venetian mask made of papier-mâché used between the 17th and 18th centuries. Its particular shape covered three quarters of the face, starting from under the nose and widening like a beak to deform the tone of voice.
The mask bauta, allowed those who wore it, the anonymity, so that there were no distinctions depending on the social class of belonging.
