Signor Blum in Venice is an artisan company that has been working with wood
since 1978. Since 1997 it is all female.
The creation of each of our items is completely handcrafted. Our creations are conceived, designed, cut, colored and varnished by hand in our two workshops in the historic center of Venice.
In the shop/laboratory in Campo San Barnaba it is possible to purchase our articles. Here you can also witness some of the phases of the process, such as the coloring and final assembly of mobiles and magnets.
You can find puzzle-panels, clocks, magnets, bookmarks, mobiles, silhouettes and puzzles: all products are made of poplar wood, hand-cut by electric fretwork and airbrushed or painted by immersion in non-toxic paint tanks.
Over the years we have collaborated with artists and designers creating wooden prototypes (for Ludovico De Luigi, a Venetian artist, we have created the wooden maquettes for the sculptures San Marco II and Finestra del Casanova), the series of wooden puppets based on drawings by Fortunato Depero, now at the Depero Museum in Rovereto for the re-edition of Balli Plastici (in collaboration with the Teatro la Fenice and L’Autunno Musicale di Como), small productions in unique pieces and limited series for individuals and companies (Adriatica Navigazione, Ormesani Spedizioni, Electa Mondadori, Biennale di Venezia, etc. . .).
Very often we make objects or paintings, always decomposable, at the request of our customers, starting from their idea, a drawing, a photo.
Contact us!!! We will be happy to realize your ideas!
