She believes that La Materia, the materials of art are powerful: simple basic ingredients can give incredible results. Her mosaics are made of glass paste (Fornace Orsoni – Venice) and the cutting of the tiles is functional to the subject so that the tiles stop to be a constraint on the composition to be created. For Michela it is not a question of filling spaces, but of drawing, or painting, of declining the technique in favor of what she wants to represent: small journeys into matter, thoughts, places and stories that she encounters. |
Orsetta Rocchetto – Humi lab
|
Orsetta Rocchetto deals with graphics but also with self-production, for this purpose, she has conceived a brand that characterizes all her activity as a designer whose name is humi, from the Latin humus, which is of the earth, comes from it and, in a more extended, which respects the earth, the planet.
Natural materials are those that fascinate her most, those with which she works with more pleasure like wood, but the same thing happens with the use or rather the reuse of products often created by the industry that she recycles proposing them with shapes and uses different from the original. The goal of her research is to move materials from their normal context of use, reusing them to create completely different objects. The creative process is based on the idea of decontextualizing the material from its common use by transforming it into something other than oneself with the surprise of discovering the expressive quality of an element that belongs to our everyday life and which is suddenly made to emerge from its anonymity. |
