Description
The Fugu Floor vase, designed by Kanz, is part of the Ikebana for Beginners project. The translation of a concept that seeks to confuse the limits of a product’s function with the emotional freedom that results from the user’s involvement.
Thus objects come to life that are no longer static expressions of a familiar motif. Rather, they are true architectures in the making, slender glass and metal compositions whose primary purpose is to exalt cut flowers. It is not just a question of celebrating their aesthetic value, but of bringing the flower to new life by artificially reconstituting the structure of a living plant.
The resulting architectural forms are the result of a new path, in which the design of a vase (if we can still speak of a vase) subverts all the rules and focuses on the concept of “supporting” rather than the need to “contain”.
