Description
The Venetian mask Bauta, also known as Larva, was the mask par excellence, very much in use in the city’s tradition.
It was the best way to make oneself anonymous as it covered the whole face and, together with the tricorn, the zendale and the black tabard, made it possible not to be recognised.
Its particular protruding shape made it possible to breathe, drink and eat. It also created an echo when speaking, so as to alter the voice and make the person even more anonymous.
Dimensions: 17x15x15cm
